A pair of red-headed woodpeckers have been making a section of Allegheny County's North Park home for the past several weeks. While not the first time they have been spotted in the park over the years, it is a bit of a rarity and thus they have reached celebrity status among photographers and the local birding community. I recently spent some time in the park photographing the red-headed woodpeckers as they quickly move about the tree tops. I have included some of that work below.
